In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron
Water like a stone
The Victorians knew how to celebrate Christmas. They decorated their houses with trees, exchanged gifts and declared joyfully, ‘Goodwill to all men.’ Yet Ebenezer was not the only unfortunate soul who felt the frosty wind of winter upon his face and heard footsteps in the night…
Inspired by the forgotten Christmas ghost stories of Victorian writers long since passed, Moat Brae proudly presents a major theatrical production bringing together performances from Mostly Ghostly, Fox and Hound Theatre and friends in a celebration of the darker side of the festive season. A time of the year when the lights grow dim, the earth is hard as iron, and the barriers between the worlds of the living and dead diminish.
For ages 12+. Three promenade performances per night at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Please contact email@example.com if you have any special access requirements.
This event is supported by DG Unlimited Together Again Fund and Dumfries & Galloway Council.
