Prepare for EVERNIGHT, the first in a spellbinding new series by BLUE PETER AWARD and SCOTTISH BOOK AWARD winning author Ross MacKenzie.

Thursday 6th February – Invited Schools Event

Ross Mackenzie will launch his new book at Moat Brae on Thursday 6th February to an invited audience of children from local schools who will meet the author and take part in spell making workshops run by the Moat Brae creative team.

Sat 15th – Sun 23rd February – School Holiday Spellmaking Fun

The theme of spellwriting will be taken a stage further during the February school break (15th – 23rd February) when every visitor to Moat Brae will be invited to create their own spell for the Giant Spell Cast and to take the exam set by Edith Fizz, Spell-maker in Chief to the High Witch.  Successful young witches will gain an official licence and will be able to purchase their signed copy of Evernight by Ross Mackenzie.  QUOTE ‘EVERNIGHT’ for £2 off entry to Moat Brae from 15th-23rd February 2020.

“A wild and unique adventure full to the brim with friendship and magic” Peter Bunzl

Ross MacKenzie has been writing stories since he was seven years old. His novel The Nowhere Emporium won the Blue Peter Best Story Award and the Scottish Children’s Book Award. He now splits his time between writing, his day job as a graphic designer and his wife, daughters and cocker spaniel, with whom he lives near Glasgow.
Orphan Larabelle Fox stumbles across a mysterious wooden box while treasure-hunting in the sewers of King’s Haven. Little does she realise she is about to be catapulted into an adventure, facing wild magic and mortal danger – and a man who casts no shadow . . .
